Every day you have so many tasks, so many initiatives. Are you managing a project or, in fact, the whole portfolio of projects? How to handle this new situation? Most importantly, how to report everything to your higher management?
Make Your First Portfolio Report is a complete step-by-step course that enables examining your situation, setting priorities by asking the right questions and making a fully operating report that can give you and your higher management a better understanding about what's going on in a company. Make correct decisions based on facts, not on wishes.
This course consists of knowledge gathered during working with the most demanding industries: aviation, space, robotics etc. Industries with high pace, little margin for mistakes and a need for data and facts — not wishful thinking. This course provides valuable insight into procedures and approaches used when cooperating with large entities like EC, ESA and small ones like start-ups.
Each section of the course ends with two practical exercises with one goal: progress your Portfolio Report. In the first part of those exercises, an exemplary company created specifically for this course will be used and you will receive all required data from us. In the second part, your individual situation will be considered. For the first part you also get a solution sheet (or partially filled Report) to compare with your answers. Preparing answers for the second part is essentially making a step-by-step Portfolio Report for your own company.
Over the years I've worked in projects strictly scientific, R&D and fully industrial in areas like: space and aircraft systems, automation and robotization of production, AI technologies, and dedicated software engineering. That gives me unique knowledge and understanding of how to manage projects in different environments — which is crucial for this course, because often you can find tutorials and courses targeted for a very precise audience, making it hard to adapt the knowledge to your own situation.
I have a Ph.D. in Mechanics (Faculty of Power and Aeronautical Engineering). I cooperate with the European Commission as an independent expert/evaluator and reviewer of projects submitted under the Horizon 2020 Programme and other EC Programmes. On a daily basis I'm a Portfolio Project Manager and R&D Director managing projects for entities including: European Space Agency, European Commission, and The National Centre for Research and Development.
Across six chapters you will go through the whole process of making your own Portfolio Report — from defining your current situation, through the whole process of collecting data, to making your own fully functional Portfolio Report. After completing this course you should be able to:
We spent over a year preparing templates, videos and exercises just for this course. These aren't some semi-changed documents you can find all over the Internet — everything here is prepared for you by ourselves.
You're here because you are looking for one answer: how to make a Portfolio Report. Not what a Portfolio Report is. Not best theoretical practices. Not simple situations where every project goes exactly as planned. You want to make a real Portfolio Report — one that will be useful for you, your management staff and your whole team. A report that presents the actual situation in a simple way. Not wishes and plans, but real data: where you stand now, what resources you have, what you can expect.
After course completion you will receive your personal certificate with your name, course theme and date of completion on it. This course is part of the PPM Academy courses series related to Project Portfolio Management, which will also be mentioned on your certificate.
If this approach is for you — don't hesitate, enroll!
